The discovery of the pre-salt has triggered efforts in Brazil in research and development in the search for solutions for its exploration. In this context, the performance of micro and small companies - many of them responsible for new technologies all over the world - has broken the paradigm that this chain is restricted to large multinational groups. Sigmarhoh's case is a good example of a small company in northeastern Brazil that, with the support of an agreement between Petrobras and SEBRAE, challenged a five-decade duopoly between North American giants, becoming a reference in product innovation in the oil and gas sector.
